rouge/ ROOZH /: Red. One form for both genders (m. and f. «rouge»).
bleu/ BLUH /: Blue (m.); f. «bleue».
vert/ VEHR /: Green (m.); f. «verte».
jaune/ ZHOHN /: Yellow. One form for both genders (m. and f. «jaune»).
noir/ NWAHR /: Black (m.); f. «noire».
blanc/ BLAHN /: White (m.); f. «blanche» (irregular feminine).
orange/ oh-RAHNZH /: Orange. Invariable — never changes for gender or number, because it comes from the fruit name.
rose/ ROHZ /: Pink. One form for both genders (m. and f. «rose»); it does take -s in the plural: «roses».
violet/ vee-oh-LEH /: Purple / violet (m.); f. «violette».
gris/ GREE /: Gray (m.); f. «grise».
marron/ mah-ROHN /: Brown. Invariable — never changes for gender or number, from «marron» meaning chestnut.

vif/ VEEF /: Bright / vivid (of a color) (m.); f. «vive». Follows a color: «rouge vif» = bright red.
